Maxus Global take home the Grand Prix at World Media Awards

Congratulations are in order for our team in India who last night were awarded the Grand Prix at the World Media Awards for their work with Tata Motors.

The campaign ‘From Zica to Tiago’ is a fantastic example of fast, responsive creativity from our team who were faced with the task of re-naming a car mere weeks before launch following the outbreak of the Zika virus.

The solution was to crowd-source a new name, bringing customers into the product launch and ramping up excitement around the new branding.

Jury co-chair Raquel Bubar, director of T Brand Studio International at The New York Times, praised the “smart and effective” response to an unforeseen challenge, just weeks before the car was due to launch.

“A very nimble reaction that achieved great results, this was deemed particularly impressive in the automotive sector which can often be regarded as slow and formulaic. To turn such a potentially huge financial and reputational loss into a successful story was regarded as a terrific achievement,” she added. (Source: M&M Global)

But, the praise for our work in India doesn’t stop there, as they also won 7 awards at GoaFest 2017, including 4 silvers and a gold, for their work across Titan (sonata watch), Vodafone & Kotak bank.
